George Weah Retires His Liberia Number 14 Jersey Aged 51

Liberia president and football legend George Weah played one final time for his country, aged 51, in an international friendly against Nigeria in a match used to retire his number 14 jersey.

If you’re of a certain age, you will remember an unbelievable goal that Weah scored for AC Milan against Verona in 1996.

Picking the ball up on the edge of his own six-yard box, he ran the entire length of the pitch, beating a number of defenders before firing into the back of the net.

As an ode to George Weah, we recreated this magical moment in Globall Coach.

At the age of 51, we assume he didn’t do anything like this in his final appearance, and if he did, it might have been a little bit slower!

Coaches can create animations like this to show a number of different scenarios, and add the interactivity of being able to go through with players and show them how they could do something better, either attacking or defensively.
